ANGOKA’s senior team recently joined international leaders from academia, government and business at the Secure Connected Intelligence Summit. Hosted by Queen’s University Belfast’s specialist centre for Electronics, Communications and Information Technology (ECIT), the conference explored the key challenges facing the cybersecurity, AI, digital health and agri-food industries.

Koen Gijsbers, ANGOKA’s Non-Executive Director and former General Manager of NATO’s Communications and Information Agency, was invited to speak at this year’s summit and share his thoughts on the future of communications, cybersecurity and defence. 

At the summit, Koen spoke about his experience at NATO and highlighted some of the organisation’s key priorities. He also addressed the strategic role that innovation plays in enhancing our global resilience and emphasised the importance of incorporating startups and their technologies into the wider security ecosystem.

The summit featured speeches from global organisations like Rolls Royce and Samsung, as well as local government figures who joined Queen’s University in announcing plans for a new Global Innovation Institute (GII) focused on expanding the technology-led, collaborative environment established by ECIT and the local digital ecosystem.
