ANGOKA Summer Updates

July 22, 2021

We are very pleased to share some very exciting updates that indicate a new era of growth and commercialisation for ANGOKA. Our team has been working on several critical UK Government-funded projects, in association with partners such as BT and Connected Places Catapult. In addition to this work, we also have several commercial opportunities in the pipeline that we hope to make public soon.

We have found our shift in focus to Smart Cities and Smart Mobility very successful, and have been heavily sought-after in the first half of this year. With this focus, we are targeting several key areas that fall under both categories, including land and air mobility, telecommunications, Critical National Infrastructure, and more. This has allowed us to concentrate on immediate opportunities for commercialisation that have become available to us.

In this vein, we are happy to announce several exciting additions to our team and our participation in several upcoming events.

Firstly, Daniel Ruiz, Jay Nagley and Karen Hutchman have joined ANGOKA, bringing a new level of expertise to the team.

Daniel has joined us from Zenzic, where he was previously CEO. Zenzic is well-known for its mission to accelerate the UK’s 4-year £200 million connected and self-driving testing programme. Previous to this, he was Managing Director of Dynniq UK and Head of Real Time Operations for Transport for London. He also set up the Transport Coordination Centre for the London 2012 Olympics and was Start-Up Director for the UK’s Catapult Innovation Centre for intelligent mobility systems. We are incredibly pleased to have him as ANGOKA’s Director, Smart Cities and Mobility.

Jay most recently worked for the UK’s Department for International Trade as an Automotive R&D Specialist for seven years, working with major overseas Tier One suppliers to increase their UK R&D operations, and forging links with UK partners for zero carbon propulsion and connected and autonomous mobility. Other previous experience includes running his own automotive consultancy, Spyder Redspy Ltd, as well as a stint at Porsche. We are delighted that he has joined as ANGOKA’s Head of Business Development, Land Mobility & Northern Ireland.

Last, but certainly not least, Karen has joined ANGOKA from Allstate after a varied and international career. She has a strong background in infrastructure and telecommunications projects in industrial environments, IT and cybersecurity as she began her career in aerospace as an IT Engineer. After working in the Middle East and Africa for several years, she has now relocated to Belfast and has held senior roles at Ulster University and Allstate. We’re thrilled at the addition of Karen to our team as Programme Manager, where she will manage our ongoing Innovate UK-funded projects, as well as any upcoming programmes.

We are looking forward to continued growth over the rest of the summer. In the autumn, we will also be participating in several exciting events, including Intelligent Transport Systems World Congress, International Automobile Exhibition (IAA) Mobility, Defence and Security Equipment International 2021 and Digital DNA. If you are attending any of these events, we hope to see you there!
